Help and welfare

The Brussels Branch is here to help

The Royal British Legion is committed to helping serving and ex service personnel, their families and carers in need. The Royal British Legion is able to achieve this through the flexible and wide range of services built on the foundation of experience.

The Royal British Legion maintains a presence within our community with the principle of welfare at its very heart.

The Royal British Legion can offer advice on war pensions, compensation claims, benefits and money matters as well as careers advice to those leaving the services.

The Royal British Legion can offer bereaved families an independent advice service to assist them through the inquest process.

The Royal British Legion's "Be The Boss" initiative offers those who have recently left the UK Armed Services support and advice in setting up and running a small business.

The Royal British Legion can provide funds to those going through a temporary crisis such as homelessness, or assist with loans for property repairs or essential household items.

The Royal British Legion can provide both short and long term care in six homes throughout the Country. Those who need a break can visit one of the legion's four break centres located in popular seaside resorts.

The majority of Legion work is delivered by a network of approximately 4,000 trained volunteer caseworkers, visitors and welfare staff.

Those eligible for assistance from the Royal British Legion are those who have served at least seven days in the Armed Forces, or are a dependant of someone who has served.
