This trek along the Western Front remembered the incredible sacrifices made by all those who fought in the First World War.

Day one had them travelling from London to the Somme region of France. They walked an average of 13 miles per day over the four days of walking. They passed between the battle-sites and memorials of World War One around the Somme and Ypres, tracing parts of the line of the Western Front.

This trek provided a unique perspective as they walked between the prominent battle-sites, often following the lines that divided German and Allied forces. There were beautiful views over the now-tranquil countryside, but as they walked along the hill-ridges and through the fields and woodland, it is all-too-easy to imagine events of the past. This was a poignant experience as well as a physical challenge – a memorable and meaningful way to raise funds.
