The first Annual General Meeting of the Yeovil RBL was held on Tuesday 12th July 1921.

On 7th January 2019 -The Yeovil Branch TRBL re-organised its branch outreach activities and the following parishes are now affiliated to the branch for membership and ex-services and family welfare Support:
Brympton, Chilthorne Domer, Chilton Cantelo and Ashington, East Chinnock, Ilchester, Limington, Marston Magna, Mudford, Queen Camel, Rimpton, Sparkford, Stoke Sub Hamdon, Tintinhull, Yeovil, Yeovil Without, Yeovilton.

The Yeovil & District RBL Branch share's it's boundaries with East & West Coker, Martock, High Ham, Somerton, Wincanton & Milborne Port RBL Branches as well as the Local Parishes of Brympton d'Evercy, Odcombe, Thorne Coffin, Hardington Mandeville, Barwick & Stoford. Additionally over the borders with North Dorset County - Sherborne (Trent, Odcombe Nether & Over Compton) & Dorchester.

Yeovil & District Branch Awarded Centenary Certificate

The Somerset County Chairman and Committee has awarded the Yeovil & District Branch it's Centenary Certificate and Standard Pennant.

Copies of 100yr Birthday Card from Pennant supplier Newton Newton and Certificate from County Chair.

 During a recent update to the Branch Website History page, it was noted that the branch had not been awarded its 100year Centenary Certificate or Pennant? Thus, the committee duly requested Somerset RBL  to check county records as to the branch formation date and entitlement to parade a 100yr Pennant on the Branch Standard.

Mike Allison, the Somerset County Chair, subsequently awarded Yeovil and District Branch Centenary Certificate 1921-2021 and Authorisation to Parade the Centenary Pennant on the Branch Standard. Stop 2026 News:

The 2026 Membership Handbook - Update 22/09/26 -the release of the 2026 version of the Membership Handbook has been paused. The handbook will not be released this September as expected.

The MS1 form will remain unchanged so please use the current version will be available on MAP. An updated version marked 2026 will soon be available on MAP, but both the 2025 and 2026 versions will be accepted for the Branch Officers Return in December 2026.

The Royal British Legion was formed in 1921 as a caring organisation for those in need from the Service and ex-Service community. If you are aged 16 and over and have received 1 days pay in any arm of the Services, or are a spouse or dependant of that person, you are eligible for Legion assistance.   Also included are Reserve or Auxiliary Forces, Home Guard and certain Voluntary Aid Societies workers
