The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.
Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
Armistice Day is 11th November. There is nationally a two-minute Silence at 11.00am on 11th November.
Old Basing Branch holds a Remembrance parade and service on the Sunday nearest Armistice day - we will meet at the Crown Lane Hall on 9th November 2025 at 9am sharp.
Our Corps of Drums will lead our parade to St Mary's Church where there will be a church service followed by our Act of Remembrance. We then march back to the Jack Morris hall for a light buffet, raffle and presentation of annual awards.
All are welcome to attend whether a member of the RBL or not.
If you wish to purchase a Poppy Wreath or other tribute for Remembrance day please contact Poppy Appeal Organiser Tim Russell on 07772 883 964 or email Tim Russell At this busy time of year we need as much notice as possible to be sure of delivery by Armistice day although we do hold some stock.
