GREAT PILGRIMAGE 90

In August 2018, courtesy of sponsorship from Glatfelter, the Branch was able to take part in the Great Pilgrimage 90 whereby we sent the Standard and a Community Wreath to take part in a major Memorial Parade at the Menin Gate in Ypres.  Dave Rudge our Branch Standard Bearer proudly took part in this parade.  The Standard is now adorned with ‘Ypres 2018’.

The message to go on the Community Wreath became the subject of a school’s competition which was won by Katie Screen & Isabelle Kiely of Primrose Hill Academy.  All the entries for the competition were placed in the Centenary Book of Remembrance and Reflection which went on display in the shop. It is now in Lydney Church where it will stand as an historical record of the thoughts of this community.
