A remarkable day for Ballyclare Branch at the NI Royal British Legion District Conference, and one I am immensely proud to share.

Our Branch was awarded the prestigious Haig Shield NI, recognising a Branch with over 50 members that has excelled in compliance, promoted the RBL positively, and provided exceptional support to its members and beneficiaries. This achievement was strongly demonstrated through our successful presentation securing the 2027 District Conference for Theatre at The Mill, showcasing the professionalism and commitment of our team.

It was also a privilege to witness Branch President Violet Wallace receive the Gold Badge, presented by the National Vice‑Chair in recognition of her decades of exemplary service to the Royal British Legion. A truly fitting honour for her outstanding dedication.

Further recognition followed as I received a District Certificate of Appreciation for my work as Branch Liaison Officer, and Branch member Matthew Mulroy was also awarded a District Certificate of Appreciation for his excellent work managing the District’s website and social media, significantly enhancing communication and visibility across Northern Ireland.

The day concluded with our Branch Secretary, Gavin Eastwood, being appointed NI District Secretary, reflecting the trust placed in his leadership and commitment to the wider organisation.

This was a day of real pride for Ballyclare Branch, and I want to thank every member for the support that makes achievements like these possible.
