What a fantastic day for Ballyclare Branch as members travelled to Coleraine for Armed Forces Day, enjoying a full day trip by train led in great spirits by Branch Vice-Chairman Norman Ramsay.
The atmosphere was incredible from start to finish. Members of the public lined the parade route, showing tremendous support throughout the day, something that was greatly appreciated by everyone taking part. With the weather holding off and spirits high, the team at Causeway Coast & Glens delivered an event that truly celebrated and honoured our Armed Forces community.
It was particularly special to see familiar faces from Ballyclare among the crowds, proudly showing their support not only for our Branch but for the Armed Forces as a whole. It meant a great deal to know our town was represented so well along the route.
A standout moment of the day was seeing Branch Chairman Dennis Chirgwin undertake an important role in support of the NI District Parade Marshal, serving as Standard Bearers' Parade Marshal. It was a significant responsibility, carried out with professionalism and pride, and a well-deserved moment of recognition for both Dennis and Ballyclare Branch.
Across Christie Park, visitors had the opportunity to engage with exhibition stands representing all branches of the Armed Forces. It is fair to say that plenty of members returned home with an impressive collection of pens, notebooks and other souvenirs from the day!
Overall, it was a brilliant event and Ballyclare Branch was proud to represent the town with dignity, camaraderie and pride. Our sincere thanks go to everyone involved in organising such a memorable Armed Forces Day celebration.
