Ballyclare

On 11 July members of RBL Ballyclare Branch travelled to Dublin to take part in the Royal British Legion Ireland Annual Somme Ceremony of Remembrance at the Irish National War Memorial Gardens, Islandbridge. Led by Branch Chairman Dennis Chirgwin, the group proudly represented Ballyclare at this significant Act of Remembrance.

The ceremony brought together Royal British Legion members from across Ireland, fostering a strong sense of comradeship as Branches stood side by side to honour all who gave their lives in service, particularly those who fought at the Battle of the Somme and throughout the Great War.

Following the ceremony, members took the opportunity to enjoy a picnic in the sunshine before beginning the journey home, sharing a moment of friendship and reflection that brought a fitting close to a meaningful day of remembrance.

Ballyclare Branch was honoured to take part in this important occasion and to stand alongside fellow Legion members in remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We will remember them.
