William Charles Green
We have received these pictures of Bill Greens headstone from his nephew Paul.
Bill was always known as 'The Poppy Man' and every day, almost every hour he was out during Remembrance collecting for the Poppy Appeal.
It was his passion. He would take his place outside the Town Hall at about 8 a.m. and not give way to anybody regarding his collecting!

The Royal British Legion is conducting research into loneliness and social isolation within the Armed Forces community. The Legion wants to explore people’s awareness of loneliness and social isolation, how these issues are talked about and experienced within this community and ways in which we might be able to help. Therefore, if you have a connection to the Armed Forces, we would be very grateful if you would take approximately 10 minutes to complete this survey and also share the link with any friends and family who also have a connection to the Armed Forces.
