Saturday 20 June saw Branch members attending the Annual Hythe Armed Forces Day in Oaklands Park.  Whilst this is a Council organised event the Branch makes a significant contribution to its organisation.  Armed Forces Day began with a Parade and Service to honour our Armed Forces and Veterans.  The service was led by Susan Shorland-Compton who was ably assisted by the Branch Chaplain – Dudley Shipton.  The Mayor of Hythe, the Right Honourable Pauline Curran welcomed everyone to the event and the Deputy Lieutenant of Kent  - Mr Geoff Miles gave a short address.  Following the service a family fun day rounded of off the event with local organisations taking part and free entertainment for all.  The Branch raised £96 for Branch Funda and £170 for the Poppy Appeal.
