Thursday 4 June saw representatives of the Branch attend the Folkestone and Hythe Excellence in Volunteering Awards, where the Branch had nominations in two categories – the Group Award and Individual Award.  In the Group Award the Hythe and Saltwood Poppy Appeal Volunteers were one of over a dozen organisations to receive nominations.  Our band of wiling volunteers were selected as one of the final three for the award, ending up as runners up to two other very worthy organisations.  In the Individual Category, Mr Barry Vincer was nominated for his work in Remembrance, ensuring none of the Hythe and Saltwood fallen are forgotten and for his work on the Branch’s Project 35, which will see the graves of Hythe and Saltwood fallen adopted by the Branch, other local charitable organisations and local schools.  Watch out for updates on this project as we go through the year.
