West Felton

The branch met on Monday 12 May, 2014 in West Felton Village Hall. The agenda for the Annual Conference at Torquay 17/18 May was discussed. Details of the various ways The Royal British Legion is leading the WWI commemorations were published. Final arrangements were made for the branch annual dinner.

WWI COMMEMORATIONS Sunday 22nd June, St Michael’s Church, in collaboration with the Parochial Church Council – plans are well in hand. The church will be open from 11am for the exhibition. It is hoped that visitors will appreciate anew the price paid by those whose lives were disrupted in the cause of peace, and perhaps gain some insight into what life was like in Shropshire and the UK generally.

Supper tickets are now available at £7.50 per person. Guests are invited to book places by ringing Sylvia on 610203 or Colleen on 610300. Tickets will be supplied upon receipt of payment.

NESSCLIFFE Day of Remembrance: “Lest We Forget” – the draft programme was outlined and promises to be another special event of commemoration and reflection. More details later.

The Carnival float was also discussed but of course that is top secret!

The next meeting will be in the Village Hall on Monday 2nd June at 8pm.
