The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

Remembrance day this year will be the 8th November 2026.

At 11:00 we will observe the national act of remembrance by holding a 2 minutes silence.

There will then be a short remembrance service where wreaths can be presented and lain at the war memorial.

There will be the usual parade from Southwick square to the Memorial on the green. Veterans, Youth organisations, emergency services and groups are invited march with us and form the parade, carrying their standards. We will march to and from the war memorial.

The parade will form up behind the CoOp, Southwick Square, in the carpark at 10:35 and march off at approximately 10:45

Orders of service will be available to print (from QR code), read directly from on line and a limited supply of printed copies will also be available on the day. See posters in Southwick square nearer the time and the link will also be published on this site.
