The Poyntzpass Branch of the Royal British Legion was first established in 1932 and has a large community hall incorporating a kitchen, small stage and bar and is available to all sections of the community for use.  It is currently utilised by the  local community for social activities such as choir meetings, indoor bowling, Scout meetings, band practice, dance or entertainment nights and for larger family gatherings.

On Sunday 13th September 2026 Poyntzpass Branch of the Royal British Legion held a dedication parade and service for the new Branch Standard.

Forming up at the RBL community hall and led by Poyntzpass Silver Band, the new branch standard was carried by the Branch Chairman and escorted to Poyntzpass Presbyterian Church by local RBL & Association standards, Army Cadets, members of the Guides Association and RBL branch members from the village and neighbouring branches.  

At the church the dedication service was officiated by the Reverend Dr. Mark Wilson and assisted by the Reverend Wayne Hawthorn.  The guest of honour was the Deputy Lieutenant for County Armagh, Simon Cassells QVRM.  Speakers included the N.I. RBL District Chairman, Colin Ward and Branch President, Harold Briggs. The parade marshal was the NI District Deputy Parade Marshal David Cuddy BEM.

After the dedication service the new standard was paraded through the Legion Standard honour guard before the parade reformed and returned through the village to the Legion Hall for refreshments.

The old Branch Standard will remain in service as a training standard.

In August 2018 two members from Poyntzpass Branch took part in a larger RBL remembrance event, namely the Great Pilgrimage 90 ceremony in Ypres, Belgium alongside other UK, ROI & Northern Ireland branches.
