Private William Whiting

As Worcester Park RBL Branch we recently have been involved in the re-dedication of a war memorial in the area, records indicate this was for a World War I soldier.
We organized a rededication ceremony for the addition of Private William Whiting’s name to the Worcester Park War Memorial in St Philip's Churchyard.

The Individual, Private William Whiting's name was previously absent from the Grade II listed memorial for over a century. He was a local resident, born in Ewell who died in November 1918, shortly before the Armistice.

The rededication took place on 12 April, 2026 to honour the addition of his name to the memorial. We undertook this effort to ensure the "missing man" was properly recognized, fulfilling our commitment to ensure sacrifice is never forgotten.
