Remembrance

The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

In Stamford the Legion leads the civic authorities, and nearby Service establishments on the dedication every year of the Garden of Remembrance, the Parade& Service of Remembrance in November, and the Observance of the Two Minute Silence on Armistice Day at the Town War Memorial in Broad Street.  You are cordially invited to join us in Remembrance this year on Sunday, 10 November.

On 10 November 2017, students of New College Stamford instituted their own Service of Remembrance of poems and readings in memory of the fallen. The Service is led by the College Chaplain and attended by many members of the Royal British Legion in Stamford.
