About Us

The Royal British Legion Armed Forces Community Hub based at 8a Wesley Street, Southport, is a trailblazing branch within one of the UK's largest military charities, powered entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers. For four years, our team has provided a vital lifeline to the Armed Forces family, keeping the hub open five days a week and offering frontline support that ranges from a friendly cuppa, conversation and banter to formal assistance through the Royal British Legion.

Beyond daily operations, our team delivers the North West's largest Armed Forces Day and one of the region's most significant Remembrance events. In 2025 Southport Branch was responsible for collecting over £50,000 for the Royal British Legion's national Poppy Appeal. We have also shown exceptional compassion during times of tragedy, including the aftermath of of the Southport stabbings, offering a quiet and safe place for reflection and support.

Entirely self-funded through local donations and fundraising, we host social gatherings and community events throughout the year. Our passion, care and unwavering commitment exemplify service beyond duty, strengthening the Armed Forces community and enriching Southport as a whole. Southport, along with branches such as Crosby and Wallasey set the standard for innovation and community spirit within The Royal British Legion.

In recognition of this, The Royal British Legion Armed Forces Community Hub volunteers were awarded a Lord-Lieutenant's Certificate of Meritorious Service in September 2026.

Manned totally by volunteers, we are open each week Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 10:00-14:00 as well as Wednesday and Friday 10:00-12:00.
