Since the withdrawal most British forces from Germany, the Branch had to consider other ways to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal.  After trying various methods of collecting donations, we have settled on a wide distribution of collection boxes to locations who have a British connection.  We have a small Army unit in Mönchengladbach which has visiting training personnel.  A collection box is permanently placed in their NAAFI.     

In October we distribute 13 collection boxes to locations in Dusseldorf, Köln Mönchengladbach and Elmpt.    We also receive donations from individuals and events, such as, fishing competitions, cycling tours and from our generous members at events and meetings. 

The final sum for 2024/5 was rounded up to €5000.
