The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance across the county. Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
We are fortunate to have many amazing local communities who run events and services every year. Details of services for 2026 are as follows:

Remembrance Sunday:
Fernhurst: 9.30-10.45 Holy Communion Service in church, followed by 10.45-11.30 Act of Remembrance at the memorial and process into church for a short service with our uniformed organisations.
Lynchmere: 10am Service of Remembrance- St. Peter's Church
10.50am onwards- Act of Remembrance at Shottermill Ponds

Harting with Elsted, Treyford and Didling
|
Harting Church Ecumenical Remembrance Service at 10.30am on Remembrance Sunday, at which the fallen from Harting and Elsted will be remembered by name.
On Armistice Day there will be Holy Communion at 10am and a simple observance of the Two Minutes' Silence at the War Memorial at 11am.

Remembrance Sunday:
St Luke's Milland: Service at 10.50 followed by an Act of Remembrance at Rake War Memorial at 12noon.
St Luke's Linch: Service at 10.50 followed by an Act of Remembrance at Iping Marsh graveyard War Memorial 12noon.
St James Stedham: Service at 10.50 followed by an Act of Remembrance at St Mary's Iping at 12noon

Remembrance Sunday Services at the War Memorial in Midhurst from 10.45am and afterwards in the Parish Church. There will also be a separate service at Woolbeding at 3pm.
Armistice Day: short service at the Midhurst War Memorial just before 11am

9.00am Sung Eucharist followed by act of remembrance at Trotton Church.
10.50am Act of remembrance at Rogate War memorial
11.10am Remembrance Service at Rogate Church
Armistice Day 11th November:
10.30am Rogate Church for Rogate School Act of Remembrance worship
Followed by 11am Remembrance at war memorial with whole community
