Remembrance

The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

In November 2022, our Standard Bearer had the privilege of participating in the RBL Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall with the Branch Standard. " It was an honour to be amongst Veterans, Serving, Reserve personal and their families on such a prestigious occasion and also in front of the new King and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces." 

This was followed by two Remembrance Sunday parades at Leighton Buzzard 

and Linslade War Memorials

Leighton Buzzard Branch Member Lawrence Xavier and his wife Flo, having laid a wreath at Kranji War cemetery Singapore, in memory of his late father Francis Xavier, who died on 9/10/45 aged 32 and all other UK and Commonwealth forces who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Wreath and crosses laid at the St. Vast village memorial stone and churchyard in memory of the Aircrew who crashed near the village, by Mr and Mrs Palmer of Leighton Buzzard.

A cross laid on an unnamed grave in the Jerusalem Military Cemetery. The only unnamed grave in the Cemetery near Arromanches by Mr and Mrs Palmer of Leighton Buzzard.
