Garden of Remembrance
The first viewing of Huddersfield's new Garden of Remembrance took place on 8th July 2016.


Cadet Forces Games Night
A games night was held at the Drill Hall on 16th September 2016, with Huddersfield Sea Cadets and Air Cadets.
 

Poppy Appeal Launch, 2016
The Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Jim Dodds, launched the Legion's 2016 Poppy Appeal at 10:00 am on Thursday 20th October at Huddersfield Town Hall at a ceremony attended by members of the Royal British Legion and Huddersfield Veterans.

Poppy Appeal Pop-up Shop
A pop-up shop opened in Huddersfield’s Packhorse Centre selling poppy-related products in the run-up to Remembrance Day 2016.  The shop was also the supply point for poppy-related items sold at other stores in the town centre.


Dedication of New Garden of Remembrance
A short service of dedication for Huddersfield's new Garden of Remembrance took place in the town's Market Place on Saturday, 5th November 2016. The service was followed by the Last Post, two minutes silence and Reveille.


Armistace Day, Greenhead Park
An estimated 600 hundred people gathered at Greenhead Park to commemorate Armistace Day 2016.

 
Festival of Remembrance, Town Hall
The Band of the Yorkshire Regiment presented their annual Festival of Remembrance concert at Huddersfield Town Hall on Friday, 11th November 2016.

 
Remembrance Sunday, Huddersfield
Hundreds of people gathered to pay tribute to commemorate those lost in battles defending our nation as an impressive parade marched through Huddersfield on 13th November 2016.
