Volunteer Opportunity: Horncastle Poppy Appeal Organiser
The Horncastle & District Branch is currently seeking a volunteer to take on the role of Poppy Appeal Organiser (PAO) for the Horncastle area. The role can be undertaken by one individual or shared as a team, with Joint Poppy Appeal Organisers and Deputies working together.
The Poppy Appeal Organiser (PAO) coordinates local fundraising for the Royal British Legion by managing volunteer collectors, distributing poppy stock, and arranging collection points with businesses and schools. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordination: Act as the main point of contact for the Poppy Appeal in a specific area, working with Community Fundraisers.
- Logistics: Order, manage, and distribute poppy supplies and collection tins.
- Volunteer Management: Recruit, organise, and support volunteer collectors.
- Fundraising: Arrange collection points at schools, businesses, and public venues.
- Financial Management: Collect, secure, and bank all money raised.
- Awareness: Raise awareness about the RBL's work and the importance of remembrance.
Time Commitment
- The role is year-round but involves a more intense commitment from September to November, leading up to Remembrance Sunday.
