To support the VE80 anniversary several displays will be appearing around Horncastle.
This site will be updated as more people / companies join in to mark this 80th anniversary.

School Displays
QEGS & Banovallum School are keen to provide a display
These will be displayed in The Big Chair Company and the Library
Also, the library are hosting a workshop for primary school pupils to make a display for the Community Window Display

Horncastle History & Heritage Society
Their new exhibition will look at how Horncastle celebrated the end of hostilities in May 1945.
The exhibition takes place at the Joseph Banks Centre on Thursday 3rd April and runs up to 8th June. It’s open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays only between 10am and 4pm.
They hope to build a mock up of an Anderson shelter in the Tribute garden and are planning various displays showing WW2 cartoons, ration books, newspapers of the time and local memories of VE Day.
Other displays of Home Guard and WW2 memorabilia and information regarding No.4 RAF Hospital Rauceby and Dr Mcindoe's improved techniques for the treatment of burns are also planned.
