Welcome to the Royal British Legion – Hallamshire Branch
A Proud History, a Strong Community and a Warm Welcome to All
The Hallamshire Branch of the Royal British Legion has a proud and fascinating history, bringing together people from all walks of life who share a common commitment to Remembrance, friendship and supporting the Armed Forces community.
Over the years, our Branch has been home to members who have served their country in many different ways, from the battlefields of the Second World War to military operations across the world.
Our members, both past and present, have brought with them remarkable experiences, stories and memories that form an important part of our Branch's heritage.
Our Military Heritage
We are incredibly proud of the wide range of military service represented throughout our Branch's history.

Military Nursing
One particularly significant part of our Branch's history is the service of a former Branch President, who sadly is no longer with us.
He served as a Royal Marines Commando and took part in the Normandy Landings on D-Day, 6 June 1944, at Sword Beach, before later serving in India.
His story, alongside those of so many other members, is a reminder of the courage, sacrifice and dedication shown by generations of servicemen and women.
We are proud that these individuals have been part of the Hallamshire Branch and that their stories remain part of our history.
More Than Just Military Service
Although our Branch has strong military roots, our history has also been shaped by the dedication of members who have never served in the Armed Forces.
These members have contributed their time, energy and enthusiasm to fundraising, the Poppy Appeal, Remembrance activities and supporting the Royal British Legion's work.
Together, our military and civilian members have helped build the friendly and supportive Branch we are proud of today.
Our Branch Today
While we are proud of our past, we are equally passionate about our future.
Hallamshire Branch continues to bring people together through Remembrance events, the annual Poppy Appeal, fundraising, volunteering and regular Branch meetings.
We are a friendly group who enjoy sharing stories, having a laugh and supporting one another. Our meetings offer an opportunity to enjoy a drink, have a chat and be part of a community with a shared purpose.
Our upcoming meeting dates can be found here on our website, and we would be delighted to welcome anyone interested in coming along.
