The villages of Clipstone and Forest Town had their own branches for a number of years.
Clipstone Branch was formed on 25 August 1925.
Forest Town Branch was formed on 13th June 1921, which made it one of the founder Branches at the formation of The British Legion as it was first known, before being granted Royal status on it's 50th Anniversary in 1971. The Branch celebrated it's Centenary in 2021 and held a joint Service with the Forest Town Community to mark both the Branches 100th year and the 100th year of the Village War Memorial being built.
The current Clipstone & Forest Town Branch was formed by the amalgamation of both branches on the 18th May 1986. Since it's formation the branch has grown in strength and has actively participated in many functions in both Villages. Two Remembrance Parades take place each year on Remembrance Sunday, in Clipstone and Forest Town.
