RBL Bishop’s Stortford Women’s Section Success at their County Conference 2025

We are delighted that Bishop's Stortford RBL Women's Section swept the board at their Hertfordshire County Conference on Saturday 22nd November 2025 when they received the County Trophy for Efficiency, The Todd County Plate for the highest donations, and the Chairman's Cup for the highest increase in membership.

In addition to this, thanks to WS Chairman Pat Markwell's wonderful sewing skills, the Branch won the "Make Do and Mend" competition for making a child's dress and coat outfit out of a men's shirt.

WS Branch Treasurer, Gwyn Allanson, thanked all the Bishop's Stortford Women's Section members for their hard work in making this achievement possible and they will get to see the trophies at their next Branch meeting.

New members are always welcome to the monthly meetings which take place on the third Wednesday in the month at the Apton Centre, Bishop’s Stortford. For more information, please contact Gwyn on 07719 306211.

Bishop's Stortford Carnival Parade and Fun Day 21 June 2025

Bishop's Stortford Branch Committee members attended the Bishop's Stortford Carnival Parade and Fun Day on Saturday 21 June 2025. It was fantastic to see everyone on the parade route and at our stall on the field.

It was a great community event, celebrating the theme of "Summer Solstice". Huge kudos to the Bishop's Stortford Detachment Army Cadets and military personnel who walked with us wearing their full kit in the scorching heat!

We’d like to thank members of the Bishop’s Stortford neighbourhood policing team for their help with the parade car and Mr Josh Dean MP for stopping by to say hello.

Poppy Appeal Tea Party 2nd March 2025

We held our annual Poppy Appeal thank you tea party on 2nd March 2025. It is always a great event where we show our appreciation to all who are involved and give out service awards and certificates.

We are thrilled that our total currently stands at just under £60,000, which is our highest to date.

Thanks to our Mayor, Cllr Richard Townsend, for attending and giving a lovely speech.

Please view the Poppy Appeal Tea Party 2025 Photo Gallery for all photos of the event and a list of the award and certificate recipients.
