Stannington & District

The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

Remembrance in Stannington has always played a big part in the wider community with closed roads, a service led by Christ Church Stannington and support from the emergency services, Stannington Silver Band, Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Brownies as well as being attended by hundreds of members of the community.
