THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION - WELFARE SERVICES

The Royal British Legion provides support, advice and assistance to serving and ex-service men and women and their dependents over a wide range of issues. If you need help or you know of someone who needs help or advice, please contact the national free helpline on 0808 802 8080.   These are some of the areas that The Royal British Legion may be able to help you with:

  • Need help with compensation?   After your initial approach to the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency (SPVA) we can advise you on claiming a War Disablement Pension or a War Widow(er) Pension, or help you to request a reconsideration of a decision.
  • Bereaved and needing support?   The Royal British Legion can help you through an inquest and compensation claim.
  • Worried about money?   If you are struggling to make ends meet, The Royal British Legion may be able to help you to manage your debts, claim benefits and deal with unexpected expenses, subject to you meeting certain financial eligibility criteria.
  • Looking for a care home?    The Royal British Legion provides short and long-term care for ex-Service people and their dependants in our six care homes around the country.   Applications should be made directly to the care home.  More details can be found on the main RBL website.
  • Are you leaving the Armed Forces?
    • Subject to financial and service eligibility The Royal British Legion can help you with education and retraining, as well as navigating the benefits and tax credits system to ensure that you get the help you're entitled to.  More details can be found on the main RBL website.
