Elite Lunch Club Raises £1,000 for Royal British Legion

Members of Eastbourne’s Elite Lunch Club have raised £1,000 for the Royal British Legion during their April gathering at The Langham Hotel.

Club members enjoyed a hearty lunch with wine and great company, while raising funds through a raffle, auction and generous donations.

After the event, Lunch Club Member, Martyn Smith presented a cheque for £1,000 to Allan Leith, Chairman of the Eastbourne Branch of the Royal British Legion. Also present was Neil Kirby, proprietor of The Langham Hotel, who hosted the successful event.

The Elite Lunch Club was established in 2011 by Chairman Peter Owen. What began with just eight members has since grown to more than 90 members, mainly retired people who enjoy good food, wine, company and entertainment together.

Allan Leith from the Royal British Legion expressed his sincere gratitude for the donation, highlighting how community support plays a vital role in helping the charity continue its important welfare and support services for veterans, serving personnel and their families.

The Royal British Legion thank everyone involved for their generosity and continued support.
