The Queen's Birthday Celebrations 2017

The Royal British Legion Ypres Branch and St George's Memorial Church Ypres invite members and friends to celebrate the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Saturday 17 June 2017.

Join us to celebrate The Queen's birthday with a Thanksgiving Service, Garden Party Picnic and Last Post Ceremony.

Where: Thanksgiving Service and Garden Party Picnic

St George's Memorial Church and Hall, Elverdingestraat 1, 8900 IEPER.

The Garden Party Picnic will take place in the beautiful grounds and hall to the rear of the Church.

St George's is an Anglican church, built in 1928-1929 following the plans of London architect Sir Reginald Blomfield.  St George’s is a Pilgrimage Church for the many thousands of people who visit the World War One sites of the Ypres Salient Battlefields.  Find our more here.

Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.

The Menin Gate is one of four memorials to the missing in Belgian Flanders which cover the area known as the Ypres Salient. The memorial now bears the names of more than 54,000 officers and men whose graves are not known. The memorial, designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield with sculpture by Sir William Reid-Dick, was unveiled by Lord Plumer on 24 July 1927.  Find out more here.
