Stanley is a Wisbech man and has been all of his life, He completed his National Service from 1942 to 1947. He has a Son and Daughter which both live abroad but alternate so that one of them is with him all of the time. They contacted the RBL Wisbech Branch and asked if their farther was too old at the age of 102 years old was too old to join the RBL.
Toby North the current Chairman explained that you are never too old to become a member of the RBL and that the Wisbech branch would be delighted to have him and them as members of the branch. The Wisbech Branch is 103 years old being one of the first branches in the country to be consecrated in 1922. We think that Stanley is the oldest person ever to become a member for the first time at 102 years old.
After so discussion with Stanley and his family it was agreed that he would become a member on Victory in Europe Day 8th May 2025. The photo's attached show Stanley signing his application form to join the RBL in the presents of, The Wisbech Town Mayor, Toby North Chairman and Members of the Wisbech Branch. The Branch Members will do all they can to ensure that Stanley enjoys his time as a member, taking part in everything that he is able to.
