The 2022/2023 Poppy Appeal Coffee morning launch raised £356.91 so very many thanks to the usual stalwarts organising and all those attending the event.
Also, an amazing £3,625 has been reported by our P.A.O. as collected at the Windermere Booths Poppy Stall (3rd,4th,5th, 10th & 11th November) so very many thanks to the volunteers attending the stall, also Penny Aubrey for arranging the rota and P.A.O. Phil Watson (aided by Ian Perry). Joining the 21st Century with a card reader also helped (£1,500 of the £3,625).
Fortunately, this year we were able to display and man a table at Windermere Booths, after COVID prevented this the 2 previous years, on 5 days (3rd,4th,5th,10th & 11th November) so very many thanks to Windermere Booths and the volunteers manning the table.
Also Grateful thanks to Windermere Lakeland Ltd. for their £527 collected.
Last year's (2021/2022) Poppy Appeal raised £5,670.86 despite continuing COVID restrictions and no collections permitted at Booths and Sainsburys. The WINDERMERE RBL BRANCH DONATED £3,500.00 FROM BRANCH FUNDS to assist the Windermere 2021/22 Poppy Appeal as collections affected so badly by COVID.
The year before last (2020/21) Poppy Appeal (at February 2021 raised £3,412.00 which includes £442.50 from wreaths and associated donations. The remainder from donations e.g. Poppy Collecting tins - those at Lakeland Limited being a major contributor and also the Windermere Post Office, so thank you.
2019/20 fundraising final total, to 30 September 2020, totalled £15,306.62 but as activity was halted because of COVID-19 includes a transfer from the Windermere RBL Branch of £4,000 from the Wallace Trust Fund.
Windermere Branch continued to demonstrate its excellent fundraising ability and during the previous 2018/19 Poppy Appeal year, the final total was a terrific £14,891.28.
The 2017/2018 Branch Poppy Appeal total was £12,304.92
Thank you to all the people in the local area who have been so generous again, and a special thanks to the Kendal Sea Cadets and the Windermere Squadron Air Training Corps for their continued loyal assistance.
Poppy Appeal Organiser update: We are incredibly grateful that Mr Chris Rodwell has stepped up to the plate to fulfil this role.
A roll which Pat & John McDougall have previously fulfilled brilliantly for over 10 years.
