Peter & Marion Burton Buckingham Palace 17th May 2024

On Friday 17th of May my wife and I had the good fortune to be invited by the 'Not Forgotten' to a garden party at Buckingham Palace courtesy of the Royal Tank regiment London Branch. Nine members from our branch attended as well as members from the Bournemouth & Poole branch.
The Party was held in the presence of Princess Anne, patron of the Not Forgotten Society and Her husband Sir Vice Admiral Tim Laurance.
The Yeoman of the Guard from the Tower of London acted as Guard of Honour to the Princess Royal while the Band of the Irish Guards kept us entertained all afternoon.
During the royal walk around , the Princess Royal met many veterans from the Armed Forces. Marion was standing behind one veteran when she came face to face with the Princess Royal, Hellos were exchanged with a smile! As a finale, the band did a Beating Retreat and the royal party then left.
During the Party, many celebrities from all sides of media and entertainment industry mingled with the guests, all were friendly and approachable.
A lasting impression for us was the service, politeness and professional expertise shown by all the staff and serving personnel, Many thanks.
A big thank you to the RTR London Branch Committee for the opportunity to attend the event.
