Tyneside Irish Memories Exhibition  Thursday 20th  October  Cleator Moor Library
The 103rd (Tyneside Irish) Brigade were a British First World War infantry brigade of Kitchener's New Army, raised in early months of the Great war in 1914.
The soldiers were all volunteers drawn mostly from the Irish Catholic diaspora from all over the North of England with over 30 from Cleator Moor alone of which 16 were made the ultimate sacrifice .never to return to the Moor
The Tyneside Irish Brigade Memories are a heritage project based in Newcastle . They have researched the stories and of the soldiers and  their families including some from our Town/
The project team are coming to Cleator Moor with their travelling exhibition and you are invited to come and see their work and discover the story on the Moor men in the Tyneside Irish
