2023 Otterbourne Remembrance Concert

A Hampshire RBL Standard Bearer was requested to parade at the Otterbourne Remembrance Concert, on Remembrance Sunday, hosted by the Otterbourne Brass Band.  Sutton Scotney's own Benn Hitchen volunteered to step forward and offer his services.

So it was the Sutton Scotney Branch Standard that marched around the hall and up to the stage to take the dip as an act of homage during the sounding of the Last Post and the two minute silence.  It was also the Sutton Scotney Standard that dipped for the Royal Salute during the National Anthem.

The event went very well and we are delighted to report that praise was received from Ottorbourne Brass for the contribution made by the Sutton Scotney Standard Bearer, reminding us why we do what we do:

Dear Benn.
It gives me great pleasure to be able to forward real appreciation for what you brought to our remembrance concert.
People have inundated me with compliments about the very special respectful feelings you added to our evening.
The bearing of the Standard is a very special honour and you carried the reverence of that special spirit with you in such moving and appropriate manner.
I am sorry we did not get more time to converse, I was extremely busy trying to remember not to forget anything.
However, I would pray for future occasions to become available for us to work together again in harmony with good will positivity, respect and love for our fellow people, community and the wider communities in our Country.
Take care.
Best wishes
Lloyde and Otterbourne Brass.
