Our dear old friend Bill Green has just had his 94th Birthday and is now living at TRBL Halsey House in Cromer. He attended the unveiling of the Poppies in Steel memorial outside the Council Offices in Cromer. To launch the Council's four year initiative and commitment to commemorate the centenary of World War 1.
The ceremony, led by Chairman, Annie Claussen-Reynolds, included the unveiling of 'Poppies in Steel', a permanent installation sited in the poppy meadow in front of the Cromer offices, accessible by the public.
Major General Sir William Cubitt, KCVO CBE, and President of the Royal British Legion in Norfolk unveiled the sculpture shortly before a fly-past of a Tornado GR4 from 31 Squadron RAF Marham closed the ceremony.
