The 6th June 2024 marks the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, the largest sea-borne invasion in history and one which open up the liberation of France and was a pivotal moment in the Second World War
To mark this occasion the Sudbury branch of the Royal British Legion will be holding a small service in the evening at the War Memorial outside St Gregory’s Church mustering at 20.15hrs for a 20.30hrs start. At the end of our service we will move to the Croft for the Town Hall Beacon Lighting ceremony at 21.00 hrs.
With remaining veterans now in their late 90’s this will be the last time this anniversary will be marked this way, please join us if you are able.
