37,000 reasons to celebrate

The annual Poppy Appeal for 2025 has raised over £37,000! This is a record for Stourbridge, so a big thank you to anyone who donated no matter how small the amount.

For the uninitiated the Poppy Appeal isn’t just about the 2 weeks in The Ryemarket and Tesco. The merchandise needs to be collected and allocated into separate boxes. The collection tins need to be catalogued and labelled. The stock is then distributed to local schools, clubs and businesses before the fortnight starts. After Remembrance all the surplus merchandice must be collected in along with the collection tins. The excess stock is recorded then either returned or stored for future use. The cash needs to be counted and banked, with precise records kept of what was in each tin.

A great big Thank You and a massive Well Done goes out to Suzanne, the Poppy Appeal Organiser (PAO), and her army of volunteers for all their hard work throughout the appeal and for giving up their precious time.
