Welcome to the latest edition The RBL Stourbridge Branch’s newsletter.
July’s monthly branch meeting saw the largest turnout, outside an AGM, there has been for a long time. Thanks to all those who attended. Branch meetings are held, at The Old Edwardians Club, Drury Lane off Market Street, Stourbridge, on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 20.00. There will be no meeting in August, so the next one will be 10th September, all members are welcome.
A last call for the skittles evening at the Queens Head Pub on Enville Street, on Friday the 25th of July at 6.30 pm. Cost is £15 a head, to include a buffet, with proceeds going to the RBL and Branch. You are more than welcome to bring family and friends but must book a place prior to the event as numbers are limited. To book a place email [email protected] with ‘skittles’ in the subject line.
Veterans’ Breakfast, Saturday 26th July. This is an informal event where a group of likeminded people meet to enjoy a discounted breakfast, socialise and raise some money for charities through the raffle. If you are a veteran and have not previously attended, but would like to, please contact either myself or the Secretary.
A big thanks to Suzanne and all the volunteers who supported us on the stand at Stourbridge Carnival on the 6th of July. Special thanks go to David Spruce, Stourbridge Military Vehicles Parade, and Emily Hoskins, Parkfield Grange, for their presence at the stand and their continued support of the RBL. We had a couple of heavy showers early on, but the crowds picked up when the sun came out later. So, thanks also to anyone who popped along to say hello and helped us raise £117.58.
Parkfield Grange Care Home, 31 Hagley Rd, Stourbridge, continue to welcome us hosting Veterans Coffee Mornings on the 2nd Tuesday and last Thursday of each month 10.30-12.00. The next few are 31st July 12th and 26th August and 9th September, all are welcome. Thanks once again to Emily and her team.
