Branch Information

Who we are...

Stamford Branch is one of 53 Legion branches in Lincolnshire, an active county with over 4000 members. The Branch was formed on 7th June 1922 and we commemorated our 100th anniversary in 2022.

Founding Members

Its members include ex-Service personnel, currently serving personnel and people who have never served in HM Armed Forces. Our Branch Officers, members of the committee and volunteers make the Branch what it is. Without them, we would not be able to continue to provide support to the Serving and ex-Serving community.


What we do....

  • The Branch organises the town Poppy Appeal which exceeded almost £58,000 in 2023/24.
  • It plays a prominent role in the town's civic affairs - leading or taking part in the Remembrance commemorations, the Mayor's Parade & Service and Battle of Britain Parade.
  • The has close relations with other ex-Service organisations,
  • The Branch has affiliated with Stamford's Combined Cadet Force , Army Cadet Force and Air Training Corp groups in helping them in their Youth in the Community programmes.
  • The Branch has close links with all the primary schools in Stamford and surrounding villages.
  • The Branch takes part in local re-enactment and period shows.
  • Members visit local care home residents.
  • The Branch lead in caring for the town`s War Memorial.
  • The Branch is active in sending parcels to the troops engaged in conflicts around the world.
