The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.
Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
In 2021 Remembrance Sunday fell on the 14th November
Within the Parish of St Agnes we have three War Memorials.
They are in:-
St Agnes Beside the Methodist Chapel on British Road
Mount Hawke. In the Cemetery on Church Road
Blackwater: In front of the Village Hall
Also in the Parish Church of St Agnes there is a Memorial Altar with two original wooden crosses from WW1 Military Cemeteries
There is also a Memorial Plaque in the entrance of Mithian Village Hall.
