Remembrance 2020

As people will be aware all public gatherings were cancelled this year because of the Covid -19 crisis, this included the Remembrance parade and service annually held in Cleckheaton.

However public support for Remembrance was such that a large number of people gathered in Cleckheaton Memorial park to mark the two minutes silence at 1100. This included all those representatives who would normally be part of the parade, they attended to lay their wreaths on behalf of their organisations.   All those who attended did so as individuals, which included members of the branch.

We were heartened by the overwhelming response from the public who took it onto themselves to attend to show solidarity with the legion.”

We remembered the fallen from all conflict's but also we remembered everyone who was taken from us in the last 12 months from COVID 19 pandemic.

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old , age shall not weary them nor the years condem  at the going down of the sun and in the morning,

we will remember them

Amen
