A bronze plaque listing the names of Birkenshaw and East Bierley men who lost their lives in The Great War, has found a home in The Birkenshaw Liberal Club.
The plaque was discarded when the Birkenshaw Methodist Church was refurbished some years ago, but fortunately was retrieved and passed to the Spenborough Branch of The Royal British Legion.
Long time supporters of the Poppy Appeal, Billy and Linda Armitage, stewards of The Birkenshaw Liberal Club, were delighted to put this historic artefact on permanent display in their Club.
The photograph shows Branch Chairman, Eddie Morton presenting the plaque's history to Linda Armitage, at a presentation evening at the Birkenshaw Liberal Club on 26 February 2018.
The branch received the Plaque at a VE Day Concert in 2015. Please click this link for details.
