Display banners have been produced for the involvement of local men in the various actions of 1917 and are in the local section of Cleckheaton Library.

The men of the local battalion, the 1st/4th Duke of Wellingtons had, by 1917, either become casualties or had been transferred to other battalions to make up their strength.

Nevertheless, the cadre of the 1st/4th still fought in the actions of Arras, Messines, Passchendaele and Cambrai.
