The 43rd annual Memorial Service was held on Sunday 5 February 2017 on the M62 westbound services at Hartshead Moor.
It was on 4 February 1974, that a bomb planted by the IRA exploded on a coach carrying military personnel and some civilians between junctions 26 and 27 on the M62 westbound.
Nine military personnel and three members of one of the soldier's family were killed.
Hartshead Moor Services was the nearest point to the incident that could be used as a first aid centre and emergency rendevous point.
It was on this 43rd anniversary that a large number of family relations, friends, dignitaries and members of the public gathered to pay their respects.

The Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Major David Wroe MBE., and Mrs Jacquie Wroe, The Mayor of Calderdale, Cllr Howard Blagbrough and Mayoress Mrs Catherine Kirk, The Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Jim Dodds BEM and Mayoress Mrs Carol Dodds, The Mayor of Oldham, Cllr Derek Heffernan and Mayoress Mrs Di Heffernan and The Mayor of Rochdale Cllr Raymond Dutton and Mayoress Mrs Elaine Dutton.
Also present were representatives form the Police, Fire Service, Ambulance Service and various Regimental Associations.
The service was conducted by the Spenborough Branch Chaplain, Mr Terry Brewis.
Wreaths were laid by the Deputy Lieutenant on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, the Mayor and Mayoresses of the Boroughs affected, representatives of the families, Regimental Associations and The Royal British Legion Spenborough Branch.
