The Annual Garden of Remembrance Service was held in the garden at the front of Cleckheaton Town Hall on 7 November 2016.
The size of the crowd increased again from last year and the garden has proved to be a useful and worthwhile facility for members of the public who are unable to be at the Remembrance Day Parade in Cleckheaton War Memorial Park.
It was lovely to see three classes from the Howard Park Community School present again who were a credit to the school.
After an introduction by the Branch Chairman, Mr Eddie Morton, followed by The President of South and West Yorkshire, The Royal British Legion, Mr Robert Mortimer, the Service was conducted by Branch Chaplain, Mr Terry Brewis, assisted by Reverend Roger Smith from Central Methodists.
Wreaths and crosses were placed in the garden including one from our Special Guest, Mr Andrew Gale, Captain of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
Following the service, tea and coffee was served in St John's Church, once again, provided by the "still active" Womens Section.
