The 10th of September 2015 was a beautiful sunny day, when members of the Spenborough Branch visited the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas.

The centrepiece is the striking Armed Forces Memorial above, which commemorates those who have been killed on duty or as a result of terrorism, from the end of the Second World War to the recent conflict in Afghanistan.
Set in peaceful grounds of 150 acres with 50,000 trees, the Arboretum provides the UK's year-round centre of Remembrance. Work on the Arboretum started in 1997 and it was opened in 2001.
Following the visit, members had an excellent meal at the nearby Royal British Legion Club in Alrewas.
