Branch Community Support:
· Branch BCS team continue to support our Sedbergh veteran with home visits.
· Rawthey Project – there are currently 3 veterans at Birks Farm. Beth Woodhouse to discuss future RBL support with Brian.
· Christmas Day veterans walk - The branch is unclear whether the Dalesman will be hosting veterans and families over the Christmas break this year.
Social Events
· It was proposed that the Sedbergh Branch Annual Dinner will be held at the Sedbergh Golf Club Friday 8 May 26. Details to be distributed early 2026.
· We have requested St Andrews Coffee Morning co-ordinator book the following dates for our planned 2026 events:
o Wednesday 10 Jun – for Branch Fund
o Wednesday 05 August – Rawthey Project
o Wednesday 28 October – Poppy Appeal
Poppy Appeal
· Since the last report, total amount raised now £13,806.81 owing to the addition of a £160 donation from an organised shoot at the Underley Estate. This is a legacy from the estate of John Estensen, a long-standing committee member who always read the Exhortation at the end of the shoot.
· Deputy Poppy Appeal Organiser – as reported last month, to assist with the considerable work involved with the organisation and execution of the numerous tasks associated with the poppy appeal, it was proposed that the Branch nominate a deputy Poppy Appeal Organiser, previously undertaken by Keith Wood. This role would primarily oversee all aspects of the Killington collections. Stephen Moore kindly agreed to take on this role, assisted by Myles Ripley and other committee members as required.
