The Remembrance Day 2020
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and Government rules, the Parish Churches along with all places of Worship were closed. This prevented the holding of traditional Remembrance Services. Prior to Sunday 8th November 2020 the Church Diocese organised the production of a virtual service. Keith Astbury, Branch Chairman and Martin Rowe Branch Standard Bearer assisted by performing the Remembrance Service in full, which was then included in the virtual Service. The Remembrance Service was then made available for the congregation to view on the 8th.
The Branch held Remembrance Services on Wednesday 11th November 2020, at 11 a.m. at St Peter’s Church, Uplowman and at 12 p.m. at St John the Baptist Church, Sampford Peverell. At each ceremony the names of the fallen were read, the last post was played, 2 minutes silence was observed and God Save the Queen was played.
