Remembrance.

The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

The Remembrance Day 2021

On the 11th November 2021 a Remembrance Service was held at St John the Baptist Church, Sampford Peverell. Sampford Peverell Primary School children attended the Service and placed crosses to the 'fallen' following the Service.  Keith Astbury, Branch Chairman lead the British Legion when the names of the 'fallen' were read, the last post played following 2 minutes silence was observed and God Save the Queen was played. The Branch and Women's Section Standards were in attendance.

On Sunday 14th November 2021 a Remembrance Service was held at St Peter's Parish Church at 11.00 a.m.  Keith Astbury, Branch Chairman lead the British Legion when the names of the 'fallen' were read, the last post played following 2 minutes silence was observed and God Save the Queen was played. The Branch and Women's Section Standards were in attendance.
